Virginia Williams
Virginia Williams is the founder of New View Media and has over 15 years’ experience consulting in media production, strategic communications and public outreach for non-profits, international development and broadcast clients.
Her award-winning advocacy and social change campaigns have benefited organizations such as: the International Rescue Committee, Peace Corps, the Centers for Disease Control, and The Alliance to End Homelessness.
Virginia’s company motto “Where Media Meets Mission,” reflects her desire to work for causes close to her heart. Her multi-platform social change campaigns on topics such as tobacco control, maternal health and gender-based violence have had measurable success with diverse audiences all over the world.
She has worked with some of the most accomplished social marketing firms in the industry, including the Academy for Educational Development, American Institute for Research and JMH Education and Marketing.
Virginia is an Emmy Award-winning television producer and accomplished filmmaker who has written, produced and directed documentary series and specials for PBS, Discovery Channel, National Geographic Channel, and other broadcasters. Notable recent projects in her portfolio include Frontrunner a feature documentary that chronicles Dr. Massouda Jalal’s courageous run for President of Afghanistan, and Quiet Revolution, a film she co-produced and directed for the Alliance for Justice that features a poignant interview with President Barack Obama.
Her project WomenRULE is designed to merge these two disciplines of filmmaking and social change marketing; by bringing important films about women leaders to women in the developing world as a source of inspiration and empowerment.
Virginia served in the Peace Corps in Morocco and holds a Master of Arts in Film and Media Arts from American University in Washington, DC and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Communications from the University of South Florida.
