2011 Rebuild Afghanistan Summit Participation Requirements

Mobilize the local community to get involved with the organizations and businesses that are working to improve the lives of the people in Afghanistan.

Provide resources and encourage collaboration at the event to help the organizations and businesses expand their projects for improving the lives of the people in Afghanistan.
1.Non-Governmental or Non-Profit Organization
-
Purpose: The purpose of having organization participate in the Summit is so they can connect with the local community to share ways for them to get involved in improving the lives of the people in Afghanistan.

Who is Eligible: Any organization that has a plan for or is currently implementing a project in Afghanistan that is focused on improving the lives of the people in Afghanistan
-
Who is Not Eligible: Non-profit organizations providing services for Afghans outside of Afghanistan such as organizations that provide immigration services to Afghan in the United States or Europe

How organizations can participate:

Create a User Account and select Participate > Register > Organization & Business.

Follow the instructions to pay fee online or by check before event (per location)

What the organization gets for participating:
-
A 3’ by 6’ table for the entire duration of the event if fee has been paid by deadline
-
The completed application published into the booklet that will be distributed to everyone on the day of the event if application is submitted by the deadline

The organization’s logo published on the website and flyer if application is submitted by September 8th 2011

Meet and network with hundreds of people that can enthusiastically support your organization’s mission
-

Purpose: The purpose of having businesses participate in the Summit is so they can connect with the local community to share ways for them to get involved in improving the lives of the people in Afghanistan.

Who is Eligible: Any business that has a plan for or is currently implementing a project in Afghanistan that is focused on improving the lives of the people in Afghanistan. Companies that are based outside of Afghanistan involved in importuning and exporting goods in Afghanistan.

Who is Not Eligible: Companies that manufacture weapons are not allowed. Afghan owned businesses in the US without projects in Afghanistan such as grocery stores or travel agents are not allowed to participate.

How businesses can participate:

Create a User Account and select Participate > Register > Organization & Business.

Follow the instructions to pay fee online or by check before event (per location). If you pay using PayPal your application will appear on our website immediatly, otherwise please allow a few days for your check to be processed.

What the businesses gets for participating:

A 3’ by 6’ table for the entire duration of the event if fee has been paid by deadline

Meet and network with hundreds of people that can enthusiastically support your business’s mission

Purpose: The purpose of inviting donors and investors to participate in the Summit is to give them an opportunity to meet with organizations and businesses that need their support.
-
Who is Eligible: Any institutional donor or private investor (corporation or sole proprietor) that is looking to financially support an organization or business that is working to improve the lives of the people in Afghanistan.

Who is Not Eligible: An organization or business that does not commit to funding, donating, or investing in the projects of the organizations and businesses that participate in the Summit. Donors that

How Donors and Investors Can Participate: Create a User Account and select Participate > Register > Donor & Investor.

What the Donor or Investor gets for participating:
-
A 3’ by 6’ table for the entire duration of the event if application submitted by deadline. The table will have two chairs for representatives of the donor/investor group.

The completed application will be published in the booklet that will be distributed to everyone on the day of the event

The Donor or Investor’s name published on the website and flyer if application is submitted by September 8th 2011

Meet and network with hundreds of people that can support the donor/investor’s mission
-

Purpose: The purpose of inviting Political Leaders to participate in the Summit is to give them an opportunity to connect with organizations and businesses that can assist in promoting an agenda to improve the lives of the people in Afghanistan.

Who is Eligible: Individuals from all political groups that are involved in shaping Afghanistan’s future.
-
Who is Not Eligible: Representative of government agencies must register as an organization or donor
-
How Political Leader Can Participate:

Create a User Account and select Participate > Register > Political Leader.

What the Political Leader gets for participating:

The Political Leader’s name will be published on the website and flyer if application is submitted by September 8th 2011

Meet and network with hundreds of people that can enthusiastically support your business’s mission
-

Purpose: The purpose of the workshop is to create a platform where specific tasks can be put into action for expanding project that will improve the lives of the people in Afghanistan.

Who is Eligible: Anyone that can setup a panel discussion and a list of specific action items for expanding a project that will improve the lives of the people in Afghanistan.
-
Who is Not Eligible: Workshops that simply provide information and have no opportunity for the workshop participants to get involved
-
How Workshop Moderator Can Participate:
-
Provide information to Workshop Manager (info@afghansummit.org) so they can download, complete, and submit application (click here) no later than September 15th 2011
-

What the Workshop Moderator Gets for Participating:
-
1 hour time slot and 1 room during the event to hold workshop, and a projector if required
-
The completed application will be published in the booklet that will be distributed to everyone on the day of the event
-
The workshop topic will be published on the website and flyer if application is submitted by September 8th 2011
-
The Workshop Moderator will have access to the Summit’s database of organizations, businesses, donors, investors, political leaders, and keynote speakers to help build an effective panel for a useful workshop
-
The application with the list of action items must be completed and submitted to the Executive Committee (info@afghansummit.org) at the end of the workshop
-

Purpose: The purpose of the keynote speaker is to inspire the public to attend the event and encourage the Summit participants (Organizations, Businesses, Donors, Investors, Political Leaders, and Workshop Moderators) to collaborate and continue supporting each other’s work.

Who is Eligible: Anyone with a recognizable name that will keep the event politically neutral.

Who is Not Eligible: Speaker that will create political division between the Summit participants

How Keynote Speaker Can Participate:
-
Create a User Account and select Participate > Register > Keynote Speaker.

What the Keynote Speaker Gets for Participating:
-
10 minutes to speak at the beginning of the event
-
Travel and honorarium expenses paid per the Executive Committee’s approval
-
The completed application with the speaker’s information will be published in the booklet that will be distributed to everyone on the day of the event
-
The Keynote Speaker’s name will be published on the website and flyer if application is submitted by September 8th 2011
